HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! I had a great Mother's Day. I woke up to breakfast in bed and 2 bouqeouts of flowers, one from daddy and one from my little man. It was really sweet! After my last post people probably think I'm crazy but I think there is an explanation to my being a huge whack-o. Tyson yesterday said, I read your post honey and it's ok to write about stuff like that if you're really frustrated but maybe you should wait a day when things look a little better in a different light. He is probably right. So here's my explanation....I'm PREGNANT! We are super excited but I have been a total wreck emotionally. ESPECIALLY if I haven't been getting much sleep. So the other day when I had my little break down I was running on no sleep for 2 days and dealing with my little defiant 2 year old which I normally can handle but for some reason I couldn't. Tyson and I literally decided to try and have a baby and bam we were pregnant. Same month. It is a blessing I think that it happened so fast. It took us a little while to get Pratt and I felt way more ready with this one so I think if it didn't happen fast it would've been a long hard road for me and Ty. We feel very very blessed! So there's my little bit of explanation. I still feel like my feelings were valid because there are many days I feel that way with Pratt...BUT I think my feelings have been very magnified in the last couple of weeks. In fact yesterday I started crying during a Budweiser commercial. REALLY??? I'm not usually a huge cryer but this baby has thrown me for a loop. I haven't really felt too sick. In fact, with Pratt at about 4 weeks pregnant I was nauseous 24/7 up until 14 weeks. This baby I haven't noticed much nausea but am really tired and REALLY emotional. Poor Tyson!

Anyways, I am now only 6 weeks along but we were so so excited we've been having a really hard time keeping it in. I took the test on April 29 (Ty's birthday) And wrapped it up for him as his present. He was shocked! We told our immediate families that night after Ty's surprise birthday party...He turned the BIG 30! And when we changed Pratt into his pj's he was wearing this shirt (pictured below). It was so fun to see everyone's reactions. He again wore the same shirt yesterday for the extended family to see at the mother's day celebration. We didn't say anything and just wanted to see who noticed. People caught on pretty quick and it was so fun! I can't wait to meet this new little person growing inside me and it seems like it will take FOREVER! But I'm sure it will creep up on me in no time. So there is my little explanation for my aforementioned rant. Thank you all for the advice though. It will really help I think. I've been doing most of those things already but it's really nice to know that I'm not the only one. I'm so blessed to have such good friends and family! I hope everybody had a wonderful Mother's Day. Just one more little thing. I want my mom to know how much I love and appreciate her! She is seriously the best mom I could ever ask for. She is my voice of reason and such a rock in my life. I love you mom! I also have an incredible mother-in-law that helps so much with Pratt and is a great person. I love you too Chris! Happy Mother's Day!

Venting...BEWARE!

So today has been a rough day for me. Really I don't even know why. Pratt has just been on my last nerve and I apparently don't know how to handle it. He is so defiant lately and he's such a momma's boy that he only ever wants me which gets so frustrating! It doesn't help that I hardly see Tyson or have him to help me much. I can't blame him though. He works so hard for our family and even cleaned the house for me before he went to work tonight because he could tell how bad of a day I was having. I just feel like I shouldn't have such negative feelings towards my own child. Does anyone else ever feel this way?? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Pratt. He is just definitely in the terrible 2 stage. Even today as I'm crying to Tyson, and I don't cry often, it takes a lot, (probably how Ty knew my day was not good), Pratt came up to me and said mommy sad? And I said yes Pratt mommy is sad. And he says it's alright. I mean really, how can you be mad at that? I think I really need more sleep. So all you mommy's out there...I'm pleading to the masses. How do you get your child to listen to you and obey? How do you get your child to sleep through the night in their own bed? And how do you keep from feeling like you're going crazy? Or am I the only one? And how do you get your child to really understand time outs because I do them and then the minute he gets out I swear he's doing that same thing again and I have to put him back in timeout. Sorry this is my journal so I vent when I feel the need. But I did warn you! I don't want to sound ungrateful either. I am so grateful to be a mom and to be a wife. I'm so grateful for my Heavenly Father allowing this amazing blessing in my life. I guess that's why it is so hard to admit that I feel like a failure at my job. A big old fat failure! I think I need a gallon of ice cream and a 12 hour non-stop nap! Once again sorry for the venting.

Funniest thing EVER!!

So funniest thing happened today...I'm probably biased because I'm Pratt's mom but I thought it was hilarious. Tyson was planning on going out to mow the lawn so I told him to take Pratt out with him so I could take a shower. So I get in the shower and get back out and Ty is still sitting at the computer and this is how I found Pratt. Apparently he got sick of waiting for dad. This kid of ours makes me laugh every day. He's so fun! Never thought I'd find him asleep on his slide though.

It FINALLY happened!

We FINALLY got a computer! Yay! So that means I can blog more often. So happy about this since it's my journal and I've been totally slacking!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Every year for Easter we go to Mt. Green to a park and have a blast. We do hotdogs over a fire and everybody brings salads and treats. Then we carve oranges (not sure how this tradition got started or the meaning behind it but ty's family has been doing it for years) then the dad's take the kids on a walk and the mom's "clean up" while the Easter bunny fills the baskets and hides them throughout the park. It's so fun now that Pratt is getting older. He loved his "Eber Babsket" and especially loved all the treats inside. Later that day he had an Easter Egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Whitesides house and got lots of fun treats and toys and even some money! I wasn't the best mom and don't have pictures of that or of his Easter Egg hunt the next day at Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds house. He was so so spoiled this year! I also have yet to get a picture of him in his Easter outfit:( Soon I promise! What a great Easter. I am so thankful for our wonderful families who make it so fun but especially for my Savior for the sacrifice he made for all of us and the opporatunity he gave us to be able to live with Him again forever!

Pratt's BIG BOY bed

Pratt is getting so big. It's really not fair. We had him in a toddler bed but he is in this phase where he thinks we need to lay with him for him to go to sleep. Needless to say it was getting uncomfortable! If we try to leave him before he is asleep is says "mommy wait!" then when i say what he says "come here mom, come here." or "I hold you" how can you resist that? So we brought up Ty's old twin bed and Pratt is now in a BIG BOY bed. He cracks me up. He is the funniest kid. I just love him and he's growning up way too fast!

St. George and Vegas

We went to St. George back in March and it was so much fun! We swam and played games. We went to Vegas for the day and ate at yummy buffets (ty's favorite part). And we got a little sun. It was so nice to get away for a week!
