5 year anniversary trip to Texas

Ty and I spent 5 day in San Antonio for our belated anniversary trip. We got some really good plane fare and decided to take a little trip by ourselves (staying with my sister and her kids) to Texas. The absolute hardest part was leaving Pratt. It was the first time we had left him for more than a night or two and it was really hard. But Ty and I had a good time and got to get away on our own quite a bit thanks to my brother-in-law for giving up his car! We mostly ate the amazing Texas food! Tyson said the main thing he wanted to do while we were there was eat...and we did...every day! We also spent a day at the San Antonio Zoo. So much better than Hogle Zoo! We had a ton of fun that day!

They had this really cool butterfly exhibit that they butterflies would just fly around and land on you.

These monkeys were literally shrieking when we first got there. We didn't know what it was at first but it was soooo loud.

Tyson had to feed the fish.

The hippos were probably the coolest thing there. They were huge! This one kept following Tyson through the glass. It was so so cool.

They also had this bird house that you could walk through and the birds would land on you if you had food. We didn't do the food but kinda wish we would've now. The birds were beautiful and very friendly.

My sister and her friend Maren came with us and brought their younger kids that weren't in school. The kids had so much fun seeing all the animals and the whole time we were missing Pratt and knowing he would've absolutely loved the zoo. It was so interactive and fun.

We also went to the San Antonio Temple for a session one night with my sister and her husband. We had been before but absolutely love this temple. It is the most beautiful temple that I have ever seen. Although I hear the Salt Lake is amazing inside. I have yet to go to a session there. Shame on me!

The temple has these AMAZING stained glass windows in every window. You could seriously stare at them for hours.

We had so much fun. Thanks min and mike for your hospitality! Next time we'll bring our kids:)
